Bring the cameras already covering your location into SPECTER and run detection on all of them at once

Most locations worth investigating already have security cameras watching the halls, the stairwell, or the room you cannot sit in all night. SPECTER can pull those feeds straight into the app through the IP Camera Wall and run its full anomaly detection on up to eight of them at the same time, right alongside your primary sensor. Every camera feed supports real-time anomaly detection, manual snapshot triggers, and live thumbnail previews in the right rail of the interface. Every hit is captured in HD and filed in the same evidence archive as a synchronized, multi-camera layer bundle.

This works with a Lorex system or any NVR or camera that speaks standard RTSP, and SPECTER can auto-discover ONVIF cameras on your network. If your kit is Lorex or Dahua based, the built-in defaults are already set up for it.

WHAT THE IP CAMERA WALL DOES

WIRING IT UP

The cleanest setup keeps your camera system on its own wired connection while your regular Wi-Fi stays free for the phone remote and the SPECTER Node.

  1. Run an Ethernet cable from the SPECTER laptop to a LAN port on your NVR (or to the same switch the cameras use).
  2. Give the laptop a static IP in the NVR's range so they can see each other.
  3. Leave Wi-Fi connected as normal for the phone remote and the Node. The two networks can stay separate.
On most NVRs, RTSP access is turned off by default. Enable it under the NVR's Network settings, usually under Advanced or Third-Party Access, before SPECTER can connect.

ADDING CAMERAS IN SPECTER

  1. Open Settings and go to the Cameras tab.
  2. Find the IP Cameras (Lorex / RTSP) card and turn it on.
  3. Configure your camera arrangement under Wall layout (choose Single, 2x2, 3x2, 4x2, or 3x3).
  4. Choose how your cameras are wired:
    • Through NVR - enter the one NVR address and pick channels 1 through 8. Best for a Lorex or any recorder based setup.
    • Direct - enter each camera's own address if they are standalone.
  5. Use Discover to scan the network for ONVIF cameras, or type the address in by hand. Test each one, then save.

Switch to the IP Camera Wall at any time by pressing V to cycle views until you reach it. In this view SPECTER focuses on the camera feeds; your primary depth and thermal detectors idle until you cycle back.

MASKING OUT FALSE POSITIVES

A busy hallway or a bright doorway can trip detection over and over. Each cell has four corner masks you can toggle on to tell SPECTER to ignore that part of the frame, which cuts the noise from a ceiling light, a running clock, or a window.

WHERE THE EVIDENCE LANDS

An IP camera capture is saved as a single bundled gallery entry containing synchronized per-camera layers for all connected cameras. Instead of scattered individual files, you get a cohesive, multi-angle view captured at the exact millisecond of detection. Each capture bundle includes a full HD frame for every layer, the detection type, confidence score, and global timecode. These bundles appear in the gallery and on the Evidence Wall. Editors can easily separate and sync the per-camera layers in post-production using the global timecode stamp.
